Bora Bora’s bright blue lagoon and the surrounding sapphire sea have long captured the imagination of travelers the world over. It is with this same passion for exploration and great reverence for this iconic island and its Polynesian heritage that we welcome you to the 5-star luxury resort InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa for the tropical vacation of a lifetime.

We take great pride and delight in creating an unforgettable holiday for our guests that reflects the stunning seascapes and rich Polynesian heritage of our island home, Motu Piti Aau - or ‘islet of two hearts.’ A sanctuary from today’s fast-paced world, our breathtaking vistas, stunning overwater villas and suites, turquoise waters, lush tropical gardens, and an array of cultural and marine activities allow you to experience the essence of Bora Bora as a place of deep tranquility. Facing majestic Mount Otemanu, the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is your ideal tropical luxury resort to experience a truly unique honeymoon, celebrate a special occasion, or indulge in a blissful and relaxing vacation.

Driven by our deep commitment to help protect our planet, and inspired by the power of the oceans, we pioneered the world’s first private Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC), a sustainable technology using cold deep-sea salt water to cool the resort. We also introduced French Polynesia’s first thalasso spa, integrating deep-sea water nutrients into healing treatments based on ancient Polynesian traditions. Glass-bottom cabins connect our guests to the wonder of marine life that surrounds us – where having a relaxing massage comes with a view of colorful fish swimming beneath you.

Whether you are seeking adventure, relaxation, romance, or all three within an exclusive Bora Bora luxury resort, InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa will inspire you with a front row seat to one of the most spectacular places on earth.

April 19, 2021 | Reopening of the InterContinental Resorts in Tahiti and Bora Bora

After three months of closure of French Polynesia's borders because of the increased threat of the new strains of Covid-19 worldwide, we are pleased to announce the reopening of our portfolio of luxury hotels in French Polynesia.
With almost no active cases of COVID-19 in French Polynesia and with advanced vaccination in United States, travels from or to the United States will be authorized from May 1st, 2021.
In response to the country’s recent announcement to first re-open “Tahiti and her Islands” to visitors coming from the United States, the InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa, already open to the domestic market, will be pleased to welcome American travelers again from May 1st, 2021 and the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa and the InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort will resume operations on May 3rd, 2021.

As per last week's official announcement by French Polynesia’s President Mr. Fritch, those travelers coming from the United States will have to undergo a reinforced sanitary process that will be different for vaccinated travelers, for travelers who have already contracted the Covid-19 virus and for unvaccinated and not yet infected travelers.

Other international travelers, including French metropolitan travelers, will still require a strict compelling reason (health, professional, family, return home) to enter French Polynesia and will have, upon arrival, to comply with a compulsory 10-day quarantine in a dedicated isolation center at their own charge or at home.

You may visit the Tahiti Tourisme website (https://tahititourisme.com/en-us/covid-19/) for more details about French Polynesia's entry requirements.

InterContinental Resorts French Polynesia will reopen with enhanced sanitation and operational best practices in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as local health authorities and governmental advisories. These measures include but are not limited to:

  • Support and training of our team members on the enhanced sanitary processes by a registered pharmacist.
  • Hand-sanitizer stations are available throughout the hotels (Alcohol-based 60% or more).
  • Floor markers and signage is provided to encourage guests to practice proper social distancing.
  • Face masks or coverings are required for all team members and guests in public areas.
  • Hotels have increased the frequency of cleaning public areas (including lobbies, elevators, door handles, public bathrooms) and high-touch points in guest rooms.
  • Transportation services adhere to social distancing guidelines and sanitation procedures. Wearing a face mask is required by law in all aerial, land and maritime public means of transportation as well as in their waiting areas (for all persons above 11 years old)
  • Card or contactless payment is encouraged.
  • Guestrooms have been redesigned without decorative pillows, magazines and other non-essential items to allow for greater peace of mind.
  • Guestrooms are cleaned on a daily basis, sheets and towels are all changed every five (5) days – or more often upon request.
  • Pool furniture is disinfected frequently.
  • Fitness equipment is positioned to provide for physical distancing.
  • To ensure a comfortable and safe dining experience, tables and chairs have been removed and spaced throughout the Restaurant and Bar areas to allow for physical distancing.
  • Restaurant furniture and menus are sanitized after each use, the use of digital versions of our menus is encouraged.
Please note, all procedures and programming are subject to change based on guidance from the CDC, WHO, and relevant governmental authorities.
