We take great pride and delight in creating an unforgettable holiday for our guests that reflects the stunning seascapes and rich Polynesian heritage of our island home, Motu Piti Aau - or ‘islet of two hearts.’ A sanctuary from today’s fast-paced world, our breathtaking vistas, stunning overwater villas and suites, turquoise waters, lush tropical gardens, and an array of cultural and marine activities allow you to experience the essence of Bora Bora as a place of deep tranquility. Facing majestic Mount Otemanu, the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa is your ideal tropical luxury resort to experience a truly unique honeymoon, celebrate a special occasion, or indulge in a blissful and relaxing vacation.
Driven by our deep commitment to help protect our planet, and inspired by the power of the oceans, we pioneered the world’s first private Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC), a sustainable technology using cold deep-sea salt water to cool the resort. We also introduced French Polynesia’s first thalasso spa, integrating deep-sea water nutrients into healing treatments based on ancient Polynesian traditions. Glass-bottom cabins connect our guests to the wonder of marine life that surrounds us – where having a relaxing massage comes with a view of colorful fish swimming beneath you.
Whether you are seeking adventure, relaxation, romance, or all three within an exclusive Bora Bora luxury resort, InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa will inspire you with a front row seat to one of the most spectacular places on earth.
February 3, 2021 | French Polynesia travel restrictions and temporary closure of the InterContinental Resorts in French Polynesia
In accordance with the recent announcement by French Prime Minister Mr Castex regarding the closure of all French borders, as a response to the increased threat of the new strains of Covid-19 in metropolitan and overseas French territories, French Polynesia will be closed to international tourists starting Feburary 3, 2021, for an initial period of two months (until March 31, 2021).
The only exception to this mandate will require a strict compelling reason (health, professional, family, return home). As per yesterday's official announcement by French Polynesia’s President Mr. Fritch, travelers will undergo a reinforced sanitary process upon arrival, including a compulsory 14-day quarantine in dedicated isolation centers, at their own charge. Naturally, we expect a disturbed domestic and international flights schedules, given the situation.
As a consequence, the current situation does not allow our resorts to continue operating as usual.
Temporary closure of the InterContinental Resorts in Bora Bora until April 30th, 2021
InterContinental Bora Bora Le Moana Resort will be temporarily closed starting Friday February 5th, 2021, and InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa will be temporarily closed starting Saturday February 6th, 2021.
These Bora Bora properties shall reopen on May 1st, 2021; this estimated date remains subject to change, depending on the evolution of the borders regulations and policies.
Several functions will remain active within the resorts to ensure a quick and efficient reopening of our properties when the time comes.
InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa remains open for the domestic market
InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa will be unavailable for new international guests until the reopening of the borders, but will remain open for the domestic market.
Our reservation service for the three resorts remains open and available by phone (+689 40 86 51 78) and by email (email@example.com).
