Covid-19 pandemic advisory notice:
temporary closure of the InterContinental Resorts in French Polynesia

Dear guests, dear partners,
 
In the travel industry, most know already that hospitality is more a calling than a regular job, and we take at heart to deliver the best guest journey we can to highlight the best our islands can offer.
Today, in a context of worldwide crisis caused by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we cannot but face a sad reality: guests all over the world cannot travel as they used to –for good reason– and the current situation does not allow to consider continuing operating our resorts as usual.
 
In the light of the latest international travel and safety measures taken by the Presidency of French Polynesia and the High-Commission of the French Republic in French Polynesia (ie: compulsory repatriation of all non-residents to their home country, restriction of domestic and international flights), the two InterContinental Resorts in Bora Bora and the InterContinental Moorea Resort & Spa will undergo a temporary closure, from March 24 to April 30, 2020. This estimated date remains subject to change, depending on the evolution of the situation in our islands and worldwide as the date gets closer.
 
InterContinental Tahiti Resort & Spa will remain open with limited services until further notice to ensure the repatriation of remaining tourists. However, the resort will close once all guests have left.

These closures will come as a complement to the measures taken by local authorities to ensure the safety of all through the respect of social distancing, which we strongly encourage to limit the spread of the virus.
 
Several functions will remain active within the resorts to ensure a quick and efficient reopening of our properties when the time comes.
 
We are taking these extraordinary measures with deep regrets, but obviously for the good of all and in the hope of being able to reopen our resorts and welcome our guests as soon as possible.

The health and wellbeing of our guests and colleagues takes top priority and we are closely monitoring the situation. We have taken a number of steps to raise awareness of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) in our hotel, and we are well prepared on policies, procedures and preventive measures to minimise the risk, as well as the actions to take in the event of an occurrence.

Our hotel has put in place precautionary measures, including increasing the frequency of cleaning both public and back-of-house areas, and are taking extra steps to ensure all public areas are cleaned and sanitised. We continue to work closely with colleagues to be extra diligent with cleanliness and hygiene.

We continue to monitor advice from the local authorities and Tahiti Tourism for ongoing advice, and invite our guests to refer to their official websites for the latest updated information regarding international travel to French Polynesia:
