Sustainability Local community
Our hotel is committed to strengthening ties with the local community by supporting associations, suppliers, guests, as well as schools and universities, through volunteering, donations, cultural promotion, and supporting local producers.
We care for education
Raising awareness among younger generations about the importance of protecting nature and providing them with the tools to take positive action is a priority for us. We welcome local students to learn about sustainable development and introduce environmental awareness programs in their schools. We regularly lead workshops with primary school students to help them discover the Fa’a’apu (our organic garden) and how to work the land. We support them in creating their own gardens by teaching sustainable and eco-friendly techniques.
We care for giving back
Throughout the year, we provide regular donations to our various stakeholders. We prepare kits for individuals medically evacuated from the island, including T-shirts, soap, disposable undergarments, toothbrushes, and more. These kits are regularly supplied to the island’s clinic. We have also donated computer equipment to local students, food items to local association “Caddies du Cœur” (shopping carts from the heart), and other essentials. Supporting our community is at the heart of our mission. We believe that every gesture counts and that our collective contribution can make a meaningful difference in the lives of local residents.
We care for local economy
To support skilled local artisans and help preserve the island’s traditions, we source their unique creations, such as woven coconut-frond baskets, traditional tīfaifai bedspreads, and vibrant hand-painted pāreu. This enables our guests to discover traditional craftsmanship and purchase pottery, jewelry, pāreu, paintings and other handmade items crafted with care.
We care for local associations
Our hotel actively supports local associations, including Ia Vai Ma Noa Bora Bora, which promotes the sustainable development of the island by focusing on environmental, economic and socio-cultural pillars. Together with the Commune of Bora Bora and other local partners, the association leads several initiatives such as the Caddies du Cœur, to which we contribute regularly, and the Ressourcerie, with which we have signed a partnership agreement for waste management. We also support Bora Bora Animara, an organization dedicated to the protection and care of the island’s animals.
